LUKE Myring has given Coventry a massive boost ahead of this weekend’s National One encounter with Blaydon.

The influential centre has declared himself fit for Saturday’s match at Butts Park Arena after recovering from an ankle injury picked up in last week’s victory at Sedgley Park.

The 27-year-old scored all but five of Coventry’s 18 points at Park Lane, Sam Herrington also bagged a first half touch down, but hurt himself diving for the first try of his Coventry career.

The eight points he added with the boot have been typical of the former Leicester threequarter’s growing importance to Cov and rugby director will want Myring in his side as they bid for what would be a fourth win from five matches.

“It’s still a little bit sore but nothing that would keep me from playing this weekend,” Myring confirmed.

“We did really well at Sedgley Park, at 12-0 down we were all thinking ‘what’s happened there’, it was a bit of a shock.
