The Coventry Rugby team to face Rosslyn Park this Saturday, kick off 3pm, at home at the Butts Park Arena, 29th October has just been announced.
It shows three changes including one positional one from the starting side that had such a good win last week over Macclesfield.
Following a training injury to No 8 Matt Tibbatts, Brett Daynes switches from No 6 to No 8, with a first start this season for Jamie Harrop who comes in at No 6, and who had a fine game for the Nighthawks on Wednesday. On the wing another fine performer for the Nighthawks Andy Murray, comes in for Jeff Gregson who switches to the replacements. There is also a first appearance on the bench for Will Maisey in place of Danny Richards.
I think the interesting choices are in the back line.. with Murrray coming back in for gregson. Which would have made a bit more sense if Jeff had of played in the nighthawks, as he needs game time to get back to match fitness. however its good for murray as he has done well since joining the club. Also interesting to see the young lad Maisey brought in for Richards which is a bit of a risk i think as its gona be a step up for him.
We've had a very stable team so far this season, with before last week six players starting int he same position every match, and many positions only having seen two players starting.
I'm with Auntoe Pastie regarding jeff G. If he's not fully fit better that he does get fully fit before agravating a part-recovered injusry. Likewise Tom Harris - much as I look forward to seeing both of them back.
More worrying to me is seeing Matt Tibbatts out injured. He's been one of my 'stars' so far this season. Since Jamie Miller was injured he's more than covered that position. and although Luke has had the glory (and IMO donr a fine job as captain) I would have said Matt was in contention for man of the match more than once.
i agree with old nick, the back row since Tibbats has played at eight has had a very good balance to it. I hope that Jamie Harrop has a good performance this Saturday. He has been pushing hard for a place this season. With the option that he can also play hooker as well.
Maybe it was the original plan that Jeff start again this Saturday but Murray played himself into the team. His try against Cambridge Uni a team everyone has been praising, was a fantastic individual effort that would definitely earn him another opportunity if i was picking the team.
He also tackled well against a superior back-line and he covered back a lot to help Danny Richards who looked like he was struggling out of position.

pity about matt he has added some grunt to the back row & played very well imo. not much cover off the bench for the 2nd row back row, though i guess sam could play 6 if necessary with benji going in the second row.
good luck cov
Covk.. thats great if thats the case, and murray deserves it, he hasnt let us down so far. i did feel sorry for him when he was dropped in favour of Jeff.
