Phil Maynard has warning as Cov take on bottom-side Barking.

COVENTRY are in pursuit of their first National League One double of the season tomorrow when bottom side Barking visit the Butts Park Arena.But rugby director Phil Maynard is warning his men to take nothing for granted in a division that has become predictable for its unpredictability.

“Barking aren’t that bad a side and anybody who predicts an easy victory in this division is a fool,” said Maynard.

“We had a good win down there at the start of October but they showed that they can be dangerous and they have enough good players to be a nuisance. Although they have only won one away game, that was Fylde who are second in the table.

“The pressure of having to win is difficult enough and we know how important a game this is to us after losing our last four.

“We have to go into the game with a positive attitude and play some rugby from the start until the final whistle.

”Our crowds have been growing, we appreciate the support we are getting, and we need to repay this with a good winning performance.”

After the postponement of last week’s game at Blaydon, skipper Jamie Miller took the opportunity of game time in Wednesday night’s 38-22 win for the Nighthawks over Moseley Development, scoring a try, and will definitely make his first start since surgery on an ankle injury.
