Week 21 results round up 28th January...
Barking 20 19 Fylde
Blaydon 47 7 Birmingham Solihull
Cambridge 35 27 Coventry
Cinderford 22 12 Rosslyn Park
Sedgley Park 30 37 Blackheath
Stourbridge 19 31 Ealing Tfs
Tynedale 25 24 Macclesfield
Wharfedale 14 32 Jersey
Some of the top table teams seem to want to make it difficult for themselves with three out of the top 5 all losing. The surprise must be Fylde losing away at Barking putting them back in 3rd place, being replaced there by Ealing whose win at Stourbridge puts them back in contention, especially with them splashing funds out to buy two players released by Cambridge.
Jersey continue on their winning way at Wharfedale with another final quarter strong performance, meaning that it is Jersey’s promotion to lose.
Tynedale continue their good form with a home win over fancied Macclesfield, putting them effectively out of the promotion race.
Despite Barking’s win over Fylde the relegation spots seem confirmed as Birmingham Solihull lost heavily as well as Stourbridge. Unless there is a significant loss of form, these three teams seem favourites for relegation.
Cinderford’s escape from relegation seems assured as they defeated a stuttering Rosslyn Park.
Fixtures 4th February.
Only one fixture next week, the re-arranged one between north east rivals Blaydon and Tynedale. With both sides in excellent form , surely one too close to call but may go to home advantage in the end.
The next full preview will be done for the fixtures commencing the 11th February.
