Supporters Invited to Sponsor a Player

London Welsh are inviting supporters to sponsor a player for the 2009/10 season with every player in the squad 'up for grabs'. Your bid could not only win you Supporters Player Sponsorship of your favourite player but also some free beer on matchdays!

Rob McEvoy, Commercial Manager at London Welsh, has asked Dragons' Den to help promote this new opportunity for supporters to get involved. As the independent website for London Welsh supporters, we are delighted to help the club in this way and encourage you to give this scheme your support.

How to Sponsor a Player


Send your bid by email to rob@london-welsh.co.uk, stating

1    Which Player you would like to Sponsor e.g. Paul Sampson
2    How much you will bid? e.g. £100
3    Your maximum bid? e.g. £250
4    Your name, telephone number and email address

Before Midday on Thursday 1st October 

·  Should more than 1 person bid for the same player, the higher bid will win. The lower bidding party will be offered another player, if any are available.

·   As with Ebay, we will start with your first bid, moving upwards to your maximum bid as people bid against you.

·  Non winning bidders will be informed that they have not put in a winning bid. 

What do you get in return?

-     Signed and Framed Photograph of you with your player
-     Your name / company name in every Matchday Programme
-     An Introduction to your player
-     Post Match chance to meet up with your player in the Marquee Bar
-     Post Match Photo with your player if they are Man of the Match 

Also, should the player you sponsor

-  Score the first try for London Welsh in any home match
-   Be named Man of the Match (by the referee) in any home match 

You will Get 4 Free Drinks from the London Welsh Matchday Bar (Marquee)

What Happens with my Winning Bid?


All winning bidders will be notified by email by Friday 2nd October. All prizes will start at  the London Welsh vs Bedford game on 3rd October. Details of how to claim your drinks prize (either beer, wine or soft drink) will be included in the email. Payment will be via credit card or cheque, payable to London Welsh.

Anyone successful with their bid? Just had an email to say I have 'won' the sponsorship of Neil Starling for the season.

Waiting for the LW team to be published so I know whether I even have a chance of the free beer tomorrow!
