Decent Start for Blues

A bonus point win away from home cannot be sniffed at but just how good this 34-14 win was will be revealed when Yorkhire Carnegie have faced a few more opponents.

There were doubts all summer whether the Tykes would be able to put a side together after their financial problems.

They did, and they started off motivated by a desire to put  the doubters back in their box.

However, despite a poor series of warm-up games, the Blues got their act together and had little trouble recording the win.

The Blues cfossed six times thanks to efforts from  Pat Tapley, Matt Worley, Henry Paul, Robbie Smith, Ryan Hutler and Rich Lane although we only managd two cons. It didn't matter on the day.

Away again this week. Coventry will be tougher test.
