The conditions played their part but Blues will look to learn lessons on how they almost let Scottish overtake a 19-0 lead. Fortunately, we came back to win 24-19 to take us to fifth.,

That handsome advantage was created in the first half hour with two tries from Matt Worley either side of an outrageous bit of showboating from Jack Hughes. A dive of which Chris Ashton would be proud but not something Jack needs to keep in his repertoire.

The weather intervened and there was no more scoring for another half hour. It was Scottish who girded their loins and came back through taking advantage of Blues being down to 13 as replacements Robin Williams and Ollie Newman were binned.

Scores were level and Scottish had more players on the pitch, but they couldn't deny one last effort from Blues who finished off a driving maul with Hughes touching down.

Uphill and against the elements and you could be forgiven for thinking the first half could be a struggle, but it was the opposite. Scottish got stronger and we got weaker, in the end just hanging on.

Game changed on one yellow for a tip tackle that would have upset the blues if had been given against us. The referee was too involved in the first thirty and it was never a dirty contest.

Well done Scottish for having a go.
