Blues will be regrouping this week to try to work out how they let a 16 point half time lead slip at Richmond losing 36-33.
They recovered from a dreadful starrt to go 12-0 down before a purple patch which saw Joel Matavesi go in followed by Tui Uru from a scrum.
Richmond were down to 14 for a sin-bin as Dean Adamson raced in from his own half, then Alex Day added to the total before pressure forced a penalty try.
It was 33-17 to the Blues at the break and surely more was to come.
It wasn't. Instead Blues struggled to get out of their half a a resurgent Richmond ran in three tries to take the game.
It was painful to watch it slip away in the second half. I don’t think we even got into the Richmond 22 in the 2nd 40, or if we did you could count the occasions on one hand….
I hope the injury to Frost won’t keep him out for too long. He’s made a big impact since returning from injury.
Failing to close games out seems to be a familiar occurrence at Bedford, time for the leaders in the team to be more vocal on the field when things aren’t going to plan!! That aside some very good try’s in the 1st half, which shows what we are capable of.
