LIONS finally found their form to deprive Ealing of their 100 per cent record and their place at the top of the National Division Three South table. Ealing looked full of pace and power, but Rugby were up for the game and prepared to tackle themselves to exhaustion. Ben Ward gave Ealing a third-minute lead with a penalty before David Howells sent in Peter Hodgkinson for a try for 8-0 with

11 minutes played.

Ward kicked another penalty on 33 minutes and a seventh straight win looked on the cards for the visitors, but five minutes of sustained pressure from Lions finally took back row Stuart Riding over for a try before the interval to leave Lions trailing 11-5.

A James Hawken penalty after the restart edged Lions closer and fly-half Harry Owens kept Ealing on the back foot on his first start.

Lions stole an Ealing line-out and a series of drives finally produced a try for prop Phil Greenbury, Hawken converting to put Lions in front at 15-11.

Ealing's Ali James set up centre partner Neville Edwards for a converted try to regain the lead for the visitors with nine minutes plus added time to play, but Hawken levelled the scores on 75 minutes from wide out in an entertaining game. * NUNEATON'S game at Kendal was postponed because of a waterlogged pitch.
