It was the best of times and the worst of times as Coventry threw away a winning lead to deny them their first win in 4 games. Matters were not helped with one of their worst 1st quarters performance of the season going behind 14-0, with 2 dropped try scoring passes with the line at their mercy, 2 missed penalties and a disallowed Seb Pearson try.

The 2^nd half saw Coventry play with renewed confidence to get a bonus point lead 24-17 by the 63 min.  It took a late Rosslyn Park try from a forward pass to deny them a win. Although an injury time Elliott Read penalty gave Coventry 2 losing bonus points which keep Coventry in 11^th position.

A 1^st min knock on by Sam Herrington with the line at his mercy  set the tone, this was the last Coventry saw of the ball for 21min allowing Rosslyn Park to lead with 3 Ross Laidlaw penalties and a try  by Tauialo after a rolling maul to make it 14-0.

Coventry fought back and near h/t a pass from Heath Stevens after a RP scrum was turned over led the Jeff Gregson going it at the corner, Lee Audis converted making the h/t score Coventry 7 Rosslyn Park 14.

The 2^nd half saw Coventry play with more vigour and confidence and on 46min Andy Weaver went over for his maiden try after good work by all the team .Coventry 12 Rosslyn Park 14.

Another Laidlaw penalty increased RP lead but on 56min saw a brilliant try from Coventry, as Gregson starting running from deep inside his own half, 60m later he got the scoring pass away to Tommy Harris, with Russell converting this gave Coventry the lead for the 1^st time 19-17.

Good work by Matt Tibbatts put Coventry back on the front foot and a penalty to the corner saw Adam Parkins score from a 5 m lineout, again for his maiden try, score Coventry 24 Rosslyn Park 17.

On 69 mins RP had some luck as a forward pass was missed allowing Chris Lewis a 40 m break for winger Stephen Parsons to score, Laidlaw converted making it Coventry 24 Rosslyn Park 24.

On 74 mins a Rosslyn Park attack was finished off by centre Charles Gower after some poor tackling, Laidlaw converted again, making it Coventry 24 Rosslyn Park 34.

2mins later a Laidlaw drop goal put game out of Cov’s reach but to their credit they finished strongly allowing Elliott Read to get the 2^nd losing bonus point with a  penalty.

Once again Coventry will rue their missed chances but Rosslyn Park were a feisty and well organised side.

Coventry need to harness the confidence that they did find in parts, in the 2^nd half for the following weeks test against unbeaten league leaders Barking.
