Coventry Rugby are delighted to confirm that centre James Otutaha and back row forward Jamie Harrop have signed on again for the coming season.
James Otutaha aged 28, born in New Zealand, joined Coventry late last season to help them out of their crippling injury problems. In his 9 games James scored 1 try and impressed with his hard running style, defence and deceptive speed. Due to the team’s continuing injury problems he had to play with 5 separate centre partners in his 9 games. Previously playing for Marist North Harbour and after a spell in this country at Brixham, James is now settling to living and working in Coventry.
He is very grateful to Coventry Rugby for giving him a chance last season and looks forward to establishing himself and repaying the faith shown in him by the club.
Jamie Harrop joined Coventry Rugby from Stourbridge 3 seasons ago as a back row forward. Two seasons ago saw him being loaned to Hinckley, being tried out both as a hooker and back row. He was recalled late in that season and made 4 appearances. Last season Jamie although turning out a number of times for Nighthawks both as hooker and back row was then used in the back row stepping in for Jamie Miller, and Alex Nash for Coventry with 14 appearances. A whole hearted and hard tackling player Jamie never lets the side down.
