Coventry Rugby are delighted to announce that former  Welsh  International  second row  forward Scott Morgan has signed for the club on a two year contract. A vastly experienced player Scott played for the Welsh U21 team, and was part of the RBS Welsh 6 Nations senior  squad in 2007, being capped for Wales against Australia in 2007.

Born in Neath, Scott aged 33, stands 6ft 6ins weighing in over 17st. He previously played for Neath, Llanelli and Leeds Tykes, as well as Bristol, where he actually played against Coventry’s coach Dave Addleton.  Returning to Wales he joined the Cardiff Blues franchise in 2006 for 4 seasons, playing 19 games for them in his final season there. Scott then moved to Newport Gwent Dragons for these last two seasons.  A serious injury last season curtailed his season, and despite being offered a new contract at the Dragons, decided that this was the time to concentrate on his successful fledgling business and play rugby as a part-time player.

Still feeling he had plenty to offer to the game, Scott jumped at the chance to play for and help at such a famous club, and assist Coventry Rugby regain their previous standing in the game. Now back to full fitness, Scott belies his height and weight by being most prominent around the field, using his speed to great effect. He feels that the Coventry club will greatly profit from his experience and will benefit from his playing at a higher level, and  very much looks forward  to the coming season’s  with any help and encouragement he can give to the squad.

The Coventry club by signing up more senior players on 2 year contracts are looking to benefit from more long term planning and development of the team.

I regret to say I don't remember him from his international days but, my goodness, he's very welcome at Cov. A big, mobile and fast forward - what else could we ask for? Welcome Scott. We look forward to cheering you, and the team, on from the sidelines.

i have only got into rugby union in the last couple of years, so he is not a player i am familier with. but i am certainly looking forward to watching him play. so maybe some people might give phil maynard a bit of credit for once.

Well, he sounds like he could do the business on the field for us.
Just what we needed experience, speed and size in the front row, the scrum will be doing cartwheels next season with the size of this man , good luck Scott and welcome to Coventry Rugby Club.

Roger Fox Bet you was their when one William Web Ellis pick up the ball and passed it to Alf Whyman ! Not quiet but you must have seen some good and awful teams turning out for Cov. What would be your pick for an all time COV team in your life span ?
