FORWARDS coach Dave Addleton praised Coventry’s impressive defence after a 20-20 draw against Richmond at the Butts Park Arena, while rueing his own side’s missed opportunities.

Cov were on the back foot for long periods of the game, which was played in front of their biggest crowd of the season, but scored two excellent tries through wingers Heath Stevens and Tom Harris and were only denied victory by a Richmond penalty on the final whistle.

“Our defence was outstanding which is a big positive,” said Addleton. “We turned the ball over a number of times in our 22 and defended remarkably well.

“But we need to be playing at the other end of the field, and it’s a bit frustrating for everyone because we did have chances and gave them away.

You can only make play in the other half if you keep the ball and avoid unforced errors.
