Cov going in the right direction says Phil Maynard.

RUGBY director Phil Maynard believes Coventry are making solid progress despite the setback of a last-gasp 22-20 defeat at Fylde on Saturday.

For the second game in a row, Cov were denied victory by a score from the final play of the game – this time conceding a try while down to 14 men with Luke Myring in the sin bin after a disputed yellow card.

“Once again, it’s one of those games that just got way from us,” said Maynard. “We should have won it but we weren’t rewarded for our overall superiority, particularly in the set piece and at the breakdown.

“But it was a step up in the way we are playing and, in terms of development, they put 40 points on us up here last year and now we are disappointed at only taking a point from the game.
