Mr Bow Jangles has arranged a meeting for this Monday 24 March 2003 at the Wellington pub @ 7.30 p.m. for people interested in making sure that we have a club to follow next season.
Anyone interested, be they a supporter of a rival team or of Bristol should come along if they have any ideas or are able to help in any way, be it in planning, organisation, leg work, designing leaflets, anything.
To borrow heavily from Vorny’s original thread I am going to repeat the following
“We'd all like to leave it to the club alone to come up with an advertising/marketing campaign that is going to achieve this but one thing is sure with our help they are more likely to achieve this number.
a) how to achieve this number, how do we get the city of Bristol mobilised in achieving this number, how do we get the rugby clubs, sports clubs, friends neighbours etc. etc. to be up for it?
b) it looks unlikely that the main details of the scheme will be changed now but if there is some fine tuning that could make big impacts how would you change the scheme to make it more possible to achieve that number?
Are there any useful skills/contacts out there we could use?
To get the grey matter going some ideas have been touted such as:
- running total advertised somewhere
- letter writing/mailshots to MPs to get them to buy in
- a list of famous names that have signed up
- leaflets
- billboard posters
If you have ideas on how the above could be achieved or, more probably, other better ideas please come along & raise them.
The challenge is that we have a budget of zero at present, what we do have is energy, passion and maybe some useful contacts. Every little counts but we also need to think big to achieve this number...please post your thoughts here, big or small....together we can achieve it and ensure the long and successful history of this club is continued.
