Bristol Shoguns and the Bristol Rugby Supporters Club are hoping to finish the social season with a bang by jointly staging two events in the next few weeks. Read on for further details.
The two events are both joint Rugby Club/ Supporters Club events.
On the evening of May 8th, which is the night of the Northampton game, there will be live entertainment after the match provided by Jon Clare who is a local musician of some renown. There will also be a late bar.
May 23rd has been confirmed as the night of the Bristol Rugby End of Season Dinner. This has been a very popular evening in recent years and has moved from its usual venue at Jurys to the Centenary Suite at the Memorial Ground. There is always a good turnout from players and club officials.
It is also when the Supporters Player of the Year is announced. Last year's winner was Alex Brown (pictured above against Newport in preseason) who won narrowly from Felipe Contepomi.
This year's winner is anyone's guess although the emergence of young players like Phil Christophers and Andrew Higgins can't be ignored. Nor can the consistent quality and finishing power of someone like David Rees.
There is usually a good lineup of guest speakers and MCs as well. Past speakers have uncluded Mike Burton, Alastair Hignell and Ed Morrison and Don Pritchard is in negotiations with a big name right now! Previous MCs have included Jack Rowell and Paul Hull.
Tickets are available at £25 a head and I'll let you know how to obtain them as soon as I'm told!
