Eduardo Simone, who left Bristol last summer, has been recalled to the Pumas squad for the South American championship. The squad omits the European players like Agustin Pichot and Felipe Contepomi.

Eduardo returned back to Argentina last season after a two season stint with Bristol. He was a near resident fixture in the centre alongside Jamie Mayer before Dean Ryan's close season revamp.

He made 22 starts for Bristol last season, scoring 4 tries in the process including a score in his final game at home to Northampton.

He'll be pleased to get back to the international fold having had to miss out on competitive action since his return to Argentina due to his previous professional status and a niggling shoulder injury.

The squad also features a couple of familiar names to followers of the English game in Freddie Mendez, once of Bath and Northampton, and Rolando Martin, formerly or Richmond.

The games in the South American Championship (Campeonato Sudamericano) will be played from 28 April to 4 May in Mendoza. The matches, bar the one between Chile and Paraguay, will be played at Independiente de Rivadavia Stadium.
