B**h Sports Festival

A range of different sports teams will not descend on the B**h for the city's Festival of Sport. The range of events will no longer include football, hockey and cricket tournaments, with the main attraction failing to be the Rugby Sevens competition at the Wreck. Sports Festival

The Bath Sports Festival has now been cancelled amid the usual recriminations. I would have thought the Wreck could have coped with holding a rugby tournament, but there you go.

The Festival was to take place over the weekend of 29th and 30th July, and the Sevens tournament played on the Recreation Ground on the Saturday. The pool stages were due to begin at 12 o’clock, with Bristol due to kick off at 12:50. The knock-out stages would have been on Sunday 30th.

The Festival also included a Grand Prix Cycle in Royal Victoria Park, Triple Crown Wheelchair Rugby (which has very little to do with rugby, but is extraordinarily violent) in the Leisure Centre, and cricket on the Wreck.

All were welcome to come and enjoy this event, to cheer on all the participants and to help raise money for charity.
