As Sarries were going down to defeat at Gloucester, Narbonne narrowly miss out at Brive, Glasgow bag a bonus point and GrAN upset Overmach in the Parma derby as the Top 14, Magners League and Groupama Super 10 competitions resumed. Glasgow survived two sin-binnings and a late surge from Connacht to secure a bonus-point win. Francisco Leonelli, Dan Parks, Ally Kellock, John Barclay and Graeme Morrison scored tries, while Parks kicked the rest of the points.

Glasgow now lie in eighth place in the Magners League on 15 points from their eight games, one ahead of Cardiff Blues who have two games in hand over the Scots.
The Warriors cross the Irish Sea on Friday to face Leinster in the final game before they take a four week break for the autumn internationals.

Narbonne, back to full strength after resting key players for the European Challenge Cup, visited Brive to try to put more distance between themselves in 12th and their opponents one place below.

However, it was Brive who took four points, winning a tight contest 23-21. Julien Candelon and Nicolas Nadau both scored first half tries, with Cedric Rosalen converting Candelon’s effort and kicking two penalties. Christopher Ruiz, who started at outside half in place of Rosalen in RCNM’s European games, added a drop goal, but it wasn’t enough to deny Brive who are now just one point behind in the Top 14 table on 19, after 12 Rounds of matches.

Next up at Parc des Sports et l’amite will be new boys Albi who currently sit in 9th on 25 points, 5 ahead of Narbonne.

It was the first Parma derby of the season last weekend and GrAN closed the gap between themselves and city rivals Overmach by winning their “away” match at Stadio Sergio Lanfranchi 27-13.

Fullback Rima Wakarua weighed in with 22 points from a try, conversion and five penalties while the Man-of-the-Match, lock Gason Llanos, was the other try scorer.

GrAN move up to sixth in the Super 10 table on 13 points from their 6 games played so far, just two behind Overmach and will once again play in familiar surroundings in Round 7 as they welcome eighth-placed L’Aquila, but not until 26 November as the Italian league takes a break for the Azzuri’s autumn international matches.
