The votes have been counted and independently verified (well the dog did it as usual) and we are finally in a position to announce the results of our End of Season Poll (just in time before the new season starts!) So here we go........

  1.       Player of the Season – this one wasn’t even close! An overwhelming 74% voted for Tom Willis (we’re sure gonna miss him). Marcus Street came a distant 2nd with 10% and Roti Segun 3rd with 6.5%
  2.       Breakthrough Player of the Season  Only 2 contenders here and it couldn’t have been closer but by a nose, the winner is Noah Caluori with 51% followed very closely by Charlie Bracken with 49%
  3.       The Player we will miss most (excluding Tom Willis) This one came down to a choice of 2 with Theo McFarland just edging it with 51% ahead of Marco Riccioni on 38% with Alex Lozowski a distant 3rd on 8%
  4.       Player you are most looking forward to seeing in a Sarries’ shirt This was another close one. The narrow winner was George Martin on 37% closely followed by Tomas Williams on 34% and Alfie Barbeary 3rd on 23%
  5.       Best Sarries’ performance of the season  One performance stood out and that was the victory over Toulouse in January which received 75& of the vote. In 2nd place was the 19-85 victory away at Sale which got 10% and 4 other games each got 3.5% = home victory over Clermont, home win over Tigers, home win over Bristol and the home win over Quins.
  6.       Most Disappointing Performance  This was again quite a close run thing. The “winner” (or should I say loser) was the 24-30 defeat to Chiefs at home just before Christmas (28%) followed by a tie for 2nd place: the loss to Saints at Spurs and the loss to Chiefs on the last day of the season (both received 18.75% of the vote). In 4th was the loss to Quins at the Stoop in October (15%)
  7.       Best referee Interesting result here as the top 2 both came from the Champions Cup with Nika Amashukeli winning on 26% followed by Hollie Davidson in 2nd on 23.5% and Luke Pearce on 3rd at 21%

That’s all folks until next year – and now let the season begin!!!
