World Cup cover from Down Under

Saracens announced on Tuesday that they have secured the services of ACT and Wallabies centre Mark Bartholomeusz and Randwick half back Patrick Phibbs as cover for the upcoming World Cup tournament. 26-year-old Bartholomeusz, capped once by Australia joins to fill the threequarter void left by the departures of Tim Horan and Tom Shanklin and the move to permanent coach of Rod Kafer. He will join the Men in Black at the end of September.

Phibbs, who has represented Austalia's 7s squad, comes in later this week to compete with Dan Kirton for the no9 shirt in the absence of Australia-bound scrum halves Morgan Williams and Kyran Bracken and he is a team mate of former Saracens stand-off Duncan McRae.
