Coach Mike Umaga has warned Nuneaton's players that the remainder of the season will decide their futures at the club, starting with tomorrow's home game against Westcombe Park (2.30pm). Last week's 20-5 home defeat by Blaydon leaves Nuns eight points shy of the relegation cut-off in next to bottom place in National Division Two, and Umaga is already thinking ahead to next season.

"We've got to keep battling away, but it's in the hands of other clubs now and their results," said Umaga.

"We have no lives left now as such. People are playing for their places for next season and they have got to earn the right to be here.

"I'm there again for another year, and this time I will be putting my own spin on the club and the rugby. These eight games are leading into next season."

Nuns suffered their heaviest defeat of the campaign, 67-19, at Westcombe Park in October and Umaga is looking for a big step-up in performance from last week.

"All our games are must-win now, but we are capable of doing that - it's just whether we turn up," he said. "I don't think our heads were switched on last week. We played some dumb rugby and made hard work of it.

"We could have won if we had played smarter and done the things we had worked on in the week."

Umaga will name his side later today and is expected to make changes.
