Former hooker Dave Addleton will be asked to continue as overall coach at Coventry for the immediate future. Addleton, who returned to the role of forwards coach in December, stepped in for today's game against Plymouth Albion following the midweek resignation of Brett Davey, and chairman Andrew Green has indicated that no new appointment is imminent while the club continues to look for a director of rugby.

Skipper Ben Russell has offered to assist Addleton and a number of the senior players in the squad are also expected to play a part on the training ground.

Davey is the 11th head coach, or director of rugby, to leave Cov since the National Division One club went into receivership in 1998 and came back from the brink just in time for the new season.

DEREK EVES: continued as director of rugby but was sacked in February 1999 and remained at the club as a player until the end of the season.

KEITH RICHARDSON: the England A coach was announced as new director of rugby in succession to Eves, taking over at the end of the 1999-2000 season, but was stood down by chairman Keith Fairbrother in December 1999.

HARRY ROBERTS: the former Leicester front row was appointed before the start of the 2000-2001 season, but his tenure only lasted a handful of games as Cov struggled to perform.

PETER ROSSBOROUGH: the former Cov and England full-back stood in after Eves and Richardson were dismissed, and became head coach in September 2000, a role he held until April 2002.

MARK ELLIS: the ex-flanker took Cov into the 2003-04 season and was head coach until the arrival of MARK DONATO: the former Zimbabwe national coach, who after a spell as coaching adviser was made club coach in November 2003. He was sacked in January 2004 after a run of poor results.
