Dave Addleton will continue as overall coach at Coventry until the end of the season. Club chairman Andrew Green has confirmed that the Butts Park Arena club is looking for a new head coach but that a decision will not be hurried. Forwards coach Addleton took charge for Cov's win over Plymouth Albion ten days ago after the resignation of Brett Davey

and will continue in the role for their remaining seven National Division One games with support from some of the senior roles, including captain Ben Russell.

"We have started to look at finding a suitable replacement who has a real passion for rugby and the city of Coventry and who will complement the existing team," said Green.

"But we are not about to rush into appointing someone to fill a gap and are taking a strategic, methodical approach to find the right candidate who is able to make a long-term commitment to the club.

"We have reviewed the situation with the rugby management team and they are quite happy to keep the present situation until the end of the season.

"Dave Addleton, as usual, did a fantastic job in stepping up to the plate last Saturday with our superb win against Plymouth and, with the support of team manager Tony Gulliver and head physio Julie Snow, he will continue in his role for the rest of the season. The captain and a couple of the senior squad members will be helping to coach the backs.

"We are very lucky to have the players and management we have - hard-working individuals who work tirelessly for the club."

Added Green: "I speak on behalf of everyone at the club when I say I was really sorry to see Brett leave. He joined last summer and in that time made a huge contribution to moving the team and the club forward.

"It was the first time he had held a full-time professional coaching role and he displayed the vision and attitude, on the pitch and training ground, required to succeed."
