EARLSDON are through to the final of the Coors Warwickshire Cup for the first time in the 37-year history of the competition. Fly-half Chris Scott contributed 21 points - a try, two conversions and four penalties - as they overcame Old Coventrians 31-24 in a tense semi-final at Old Leamingtonians.

Scrum-half James Ellington's maiden try and one from full-back Ed Keen gave Earlsdon a 31-12 lead after 65 minutes, but they had to withstand a strong finish by OCs before the celebrations began.

Earlsdon will play the winners of the second sem-final which, a repeat of last year's final between Broadstreet and Kenilworth, is set for Leamington on Wednesday, March 5.

Kenilworth overpowered Old Laurentians 58-8 in their delayed quarter-final with backs trio Chris Brown, Jez Noon and David Clements scoring two tries apiece.

Dunlop and Old Leamingtonians will meet in the final of the Warwickshire Shield at Stratford on March 16.

Full-back Dave Weston ran through for a try from the final play of the game, Craig McGrory converting, to give Dunlop a last-gasp 21-15 win over Rugby St Andrews in their semi-final at Southam.

Old Leamingtonians produced a strong last quarter to edge through 8-5 against Coventry Welsh in the other semi-final, played at Barkers Butts.

Stoke Old Boys ran riot to beat visitors Coventry Saracens 90-0 in their rearranged Midlands Six West (South East) game, scoring 15 tries - four from Tom Kent to go with hat-tricks for James Brewerton and Paul Hester.

Old Wheatleyans retained second spot in the table with a 57-18 home win over Rugby Welsh, while Pinley secured a 26-17 verdict at Harbury in Midlands Five West (South).
