Loan deals boost Rugby Lions

RUGBY LIONS will be bolstered by two loan signings from National One Cambridge – second-row/back-row Pete Kolakowski and prop James Armitage – when they entertain Hull tomorrow. They will start off on the bench but tight-head Jon Pateman makes his first start since arriving from Earlsdon.

Confidence at Webb Ellis Road is sky-high after the 32-17 success at Preston when they built on an explosive start that saw Jeff Gregson score the first of his hat-trick of tries in the opening minute.

“We knew we were doing the right things,” explained coach Pete Glackin.

“When we played well we played really well but we didn’t sustain it for 80 minutes – we did that against Preston so we want more of the same against Hull.”
