Broadstreet 50 Hull Ionians 22

DEADLY duo Greg Summers and Dan Richards proved to be the difference as Broadstreet routed rock-bottom Hull Ionians 50-22 at Brantingham Park. Summers’ four-timer, coupled with Richards’ six conversions and a penalty, gave Broadstreet another victory in National Two North. Street’s Nick Thatcher broke through to score after twelve minutes, and which Richards converted. Summers added another just three minutes later, before Dan Hague capitalised on lax Street defending to get the hosts on the scoreboard.

But Thatcher and Summers, supplemented by the boot of Richards, quickly moved Broadstreet away from danger and Joshua Loach-Smith scored before half-time to ensure Broadstreet went in 35-10 ahead.

Iain Gordon converted his own try three minutes after the interval to give the hosts a little hope, but Richards added a further penalty.

Summers and Richards once again combined to make it 45-17, before Richard Moorhouse claimed a try for Ionians.

But Summers put the hosts out of their misery with his and Broadstreet’s final try of the game.
