This Wednesday here at the BPA, Coventry entertain Doncaster Knights in Coventry's last home game before the playoffs. Read on for match preview and Phil Maynard's chosen team, which looks almost unchanged from that of last Friday's against Birmingham & Solihull. Doncaster, under Director of Rugby, Lynn Howells and former Coventry coach, Brett Davey have struggled to find their form this season, not helped by a crippling injury situation.
Despite last Sunday's win 27-20 over local relegation rivals, Rotherham, Doncaster are still in the relegation play-off zone although it does look like Rotherham will be facing Coventry as one of the four. Doncaster still have 3 games in hand over their closest rivals, Moseley and Plymouth and are probably favourites to survive. The team are now back to full strength, apart from Will Hurrell who is on England U20 duty.
The game this Wednesday has been targeted by Doncaster as a must win for them, which would take them out of the relegation zone. Coventry on their part will be looking more long term, building up momentum and confidence for the play-offs. A close and enthralling contest is expected as Coventry go for their 2nd double in 6 days.
