This Saturday 23^rd October Coventry face the long journey north to meet Blaydon at Crow Trees, Swalwell, kick off 3pm.  Coventry have never played Blaydon before, despite Blaydon being formed in 1888. 

Blaydon are situated just south of Newcastle upon Tyne close to the Metro Centre. 

Last season Blaydon finished a creditable 7^th in NL1, they have a promising youth set up with over 200 youth members, and also recruit from the local Universities. They often lose players out to Newcastle Falcons and at end of last season lost Mark Wilson and James Fitzpatrick there plus two down to Barking as well as David Graham to local rivals Tynedale.

Players to watch are fullback Dan Kyle, who is scoring tries as well as kicking his goals, centre Andrew Baggett and wing Kevin McShane.  Lock Chris Wearmouth heads up an experienced pack.

Under player coach new signing centre Tom Rock from London Welsh, but has been filling in as scrum half, they have started NL1 with a similar record to Coventry, with 2 wins but have one more bonus point than Coventry. However most of their results show close games apart from last weeks large loss at Macclesfield by 33 -0.

Blaydon have beaten Sedgley Park at home as well as Otley away. Narrow losses have occurred against Tynedale, Stourbridge, Cinderford and Cambridge.  Blaydon will be looking to bounce back from last weeks heavy loss away to Macclesfield, and they are always difficult to beat on their own ground.

Coventry will be buoyed by a much better performance against league leaders Barking, and will be looking to build on that game.  Coventry’s team will be announced on Thursday, following injury doubts to Nat McDonald (groin) and Elliott Read (13 facial stitches).

From what i remember the pitch is approx 150m from the clbhouse with a slight slop right 2 left and might get a bit breezy

Think I have seen 2.15pm elsewhere on here?
