As this is the last match preview of the year Coventry Rugby takes this opportunity to wish everyone a Peaceful and Joyful Christmas and a Prosperous New Year  both off and on the field to all its supporters far and wide. Stourbridge were founded in 1876, two years after Coventry, and moved to their purpose built ground at Stourton in 1965.

Boxing Day Sunday 26^th December sees Coventry Rugby make the return visit to Stourbridge, kick off 2pm. This season they met in the 2nd game of the season, with both teams virtually fielding new squads, Coventry beat Stourbridge 45-32.

Under Director of Rugby, Neil Mitchell., assisted by ex Worcester stalwarts Tony Windo and Thinus Delport, Stourbridge have cemented their close relationship with Worcester Warriors. They are currently in 5^th position in NL1, on 37 points, with 8 wins and 5 defeats, 7 points ahead of Coventry in 10^th place. 

Since losing away to Coventry and Wharfedale in September, Stourbridge have since won   4 away games in a row, including the win against one of the league favourites Cambridge, two weeks ago.

However their home form has not been so impressive, winning 4 and losing 3, admittedly against 3 of the top 4 sides in Barking, London Scottish and Macclesfield.

Stourbridge players to watch out for is the experienced Ali Bressington as fullback, Charlie Fellows (Worcester) on the wing, and 2 goal kicking No 10’s in Luke Cozens (Worcester) and Cameron Brown (Loughborough Students).  In livewire scrum half Tom Richardson, they have a player who can score tries, as well as new centre Charlie Hayter (Nottingham).  Other squad members include Simon Frewin, Ollie Frost and David Askew, also known to Coventry supporters.

An exciting game is in prospect on Boxing Day, as Stourbridge will want to maintain the momentum shown in beating Cambridge, and Coventry need to build on their home form and start winning away.

could be embarrassing if we don't match their commitment.
