COVENTRY Rugby Club’s two main sponsors have clashed in the first ever Unipart Logistics versus Jaguar Land Rover match at the Butts Park Arena.The two teams were drawn entirely from Unipart Logistics and Jaguar Land Rover staff and were playing for a new trophy and a man-of-the-match award in a Unipart Logistics family day at the Butts Park Arena.

The match was hard fought with some excellent play by both teams as Unipart edged it 22-17.

Mike Varnom, MD of Unipart Aftermarket Logistics, said: “We are delighted with the way today has gone. It was great to see so many children here and to watch such an attractive game of rugby.

“It’s another first for the club and its two major sponsors and it’s been a great success. We are all committed to promoting rugby in the Coventry and Warwickshire area and while our joint schools programme plays a significant role in this it’s also great to see our own employees getting involved.”

Cov chairman Peter Rossborough presented the man-of-the-match award to Unipart’s fly-half Duncan Carter.
