Sedgley Park    26         19   Macclesfield

Barking             13        17   London  Scottish

Relevant NL2 N Result:

Kendal                6        30   Loughborough  Students

Review:

Saturday saw at last the promotion and final relegation issue resolved in NL1. Promotion to the Championship goes to London Scottish; whose last minute interception try against previously unbeaten Barking saw them through.

Sedgley Park by beating Macclesfield saved themselves from relegation, and in the process condemned Redruth to the third and final relegation place, leaving Cornwall with no teams in NL1.

Stourbridge losing away to the already relegated Launceston, made sure that Coventry finished 8th in the final league table.

Summary      Relegated  to NL1 from Championship-Birmingham Solihull

                     Promoted to Championship from NL1- London Scottish

                     Relegated from NL1  Launceston, Otley and Redruth

                     Promoted to NL1 from NL2  Ealing Trailfinders and Fylde plus one other

NL2N   Relevant Fixtures 14th May

Harrogate   v   Westoe

Loughborough  Students  v  Nuneaton

Preview NL2N

With Ealing Trailfinders and Fylde already promoted to NL1, all that remains is the final promotion spot, which will involve a playoff between Jersey and either Leicester Lions, Loughborough Students or Westoe.

If Loughborough Students beat Nuneaton, or Westoe lose, then Westoe are removed from the equation, leaving the NL2N playoff spot, between Loughborough Students and Leicester Lions, with the playoff final against Jersey expected on the 28th May.

the seemingly interminable quest for the final promotion spot to NL1 goes on.
Loughborough St 36 Nuneaton 3
Harrogate 19 Westoe 38

despite Westoe's win they are out of the race with LS winning.
It is down to next weeks fixtures
Huddesfield v Leicester Lions
Loughborough Students v Westoe
Simple equation this time if Loughborough win then they will meet Jersey in the playoff . It gets more complicated if they lose and Leicester lions win, but LS are just about favourites.
The playoff final involving Jersey and either LL or LS will take place in Jersey on the 28th May.

despite Leicester Lions beating Huddersfield, Loughborough also won against Westoe. Therefore Loughborough Students go on to face Jersey away in Jersey on the 28th May with the winner being promoted to NL1.
So either another local journey for Cov next season, or renewing acquintances with some of our past team members.

final result Jersey 30 loughborough St 5
Coventry will be travelling to Jersey next season as Jersey enjoyed a comprehensive victory over LS. A case of men against boys as LS couldnt cope with the power of the Jersey pack.
4 tries to 1 says it all.
Crowd was given as 4000.

the experienced jersey pack will more than hold their own in NL1.impressive front 5 including dai Maddocks, MOM Nick Trower as No 8.
official crowd given as 3100.
