Glackin warns Cov not to concentrate on only Phil Chesters..

PETE Glackin has warned Coventry they cannot afford to concentrate all their efforts on stopping try machine Phil Chesters when they face Ealing this weekend.

The prolific Trailfinders’ wing has followed up last season’s incredible tally of 70 with another 21 in just 13 games this term as the newly promoted outfit have raced straight to the top of National One.

However, the Londoners have wobbled in recent weeks and after starting the season with nine consecutive wins they have lost two of their last four.

That includes last weekend’s home reverse to Macclesfield, a result that both gives Coventry hope and focuses their minds on an expected backlash when the sides meet at Butts Park on Saturday.

But the three-quarters specialist says Cov will have to address the whole visiting side and not just their free-scoring wing.

“The team have created those chances for him. He is obviously a player with strengths but he is not a super-hero,” Glackin said.

“We have looked at Ealing and you can put it down to the brand of rugby they play and the systems they use, they are a very solid side that creates those chances and he makes the most of them.

“We are looking at it as a whole package rather than singling any one player out, we need to try and close them down, limit their opportunities and stop them at source.”
