The final round of ties for the year saw the title race thrown wide open with defeat for leaders Ealing and 3rd placed Fylde. As expectedRosslynParkput up a strong show in beating Ealing away taking them to 3rd place, whilst Wharfedale had a narrow win at home to Fylde, which drops Fylde to 4th place. Meanwhile Jersey after their 11th straight win, take over in 2nd place just one point behind leaders Ealing, with Jersey now probably favourites for promotion. These 4 teams are just separated by 4 points and are now pulling away from the teams below them led by Macclesfield.
The relegation zone is now taking shape with further losses by Birmingham Solihull and Barking, making them odds on favourites for relegation. However the third and final spot is still wide open, with Stourbridge winning at home to misfiringCoventry, and Cinderford with a large home win over Bham Solihull. These two wins puts further pressure on those teams immediately above them for the final relegation spot, with now only three wins separating relegation and Cambridge in 7th spot.
With all teams now having a Christmas and New Year break, the next round of matches, Round 18 will take place on the 7th January 2012, a preview of these matches will be done closer to the time.
May Coventry Rugby Club wish all their supporters the seasons greetings, and an exciting start to the season when it recommences on the 7th January.
