JAMIE Miller is set to make a significant step along the road to recovery tonight as he takes part in his first contact session since undergoing ankle surgery.

The Coventry captain has not played since coming off at half time at Sedgley Park on September 17, since when he had no other option but to go under the knife to address the nagging injury.

He took part in a skills session last Friday but tonight will see him make an important step back.

“It was good to have Jamie back involved and it’ll also be good to have him back in the mix for selection,” said rugby director Phil Maynard.

“He’ll probably be a bit off the pace in terms of fitness so it’ll take him a couple of weeks to get back to game shape and then a few after that to get back to 100 per cent.

“But his injury came at a bad time for us when we lost a lot of experience from our young side.”
