PHIL Maynard hailed Coventry’s backs after a 39-26 win over third-placed Fylde in their first game at the Butts Park Arena for seven weeks.

The five-try win was Cov’s first in five starts and moved them up three places in the National League One table.

“It’s nice to get something for all the hard work that has been put in and I’m very pleased for the lads,” said Rugby Director Maynard.

“Five of the players who started today had never played a league game here, we have had to make that many changes, so it was all a new experience for them.

“But our confidence had been built up by two good away performances, and we finally got things right in the back division. It all came off for us which was great to see.”
