After all of last week’s postponements further weather and travel problems led to a somewhat truncated set of results this week. Only two games were played both in the London area.

What was expected to be game of the round turned out to be so as Esher fought their way to a bonus point victory over 2^nd placed Blaydon. All credit to Blaydon for managing to complete the long journey but their bodies and minds were still on the coach as they were 17 points behind by half time.  A fight back brought them back to within 3 points but a late Esher surge saw them through which lifts them into 3^rd place but now only one point behind Blaydon. A third victory in a row puts Esher back in the frame to challenge leaders Ealing whilst Blaydon despite their 2^nd successive away defeat cannot be written off. Not for the first time this season full back Charlie Walker with his speed and side step proved the difference in class.

The other game saw an impressive display by Richmond as they demolished a fading Cinderford with 7 tries helped by an outstanding back row performance and goal kicking master class by Tom Platt.

A win that takes Richmond three places up the table to 6^th spot only two points behind Old Albanian in 5^th. Coventry Rugby fall back to 9^th but with a game in hand over Richmond.

The effect of the recent postponements has meant that no teams have completed their 20 expected games, with 4 teams on 19, 8 teams on 18, and 4 teams on 17. Seven of the postponed matches  including two postponed in December and 5 from 19^th January will be played on Saturday 9^th February, full details will be covered  in later previews including  when the remaining games will be scheduled.
