Morgan 'shocked' by Cov's dismal display at Worthing.

Head coach Scott Morgan was ‘totally shocked’ after seeing his side fall to a disappointing third consecutive away defeat.

Coventry followed up their 63-point demolition of Blackheath at home with another poor performance on the road as they slipped to a 39-12 loss at Worthing.

The setback follows defeats at Wharfedale and Blaydon which have seriously dented Cov’s promotion credentials.

“I’m totally shocked and incredibly disappointed,’’ said Morgan.

“We took too many wrong options. The squad really do need to ask questions of themselves.

“We continually played to their strengths around the fringes, instead of changing the pattern and moving the ball wide until it was too slow and late.

“We lost numerous balls in and around their goal line and I do have to question overall the mindset of the players.

“They now have to show they care with their actions.

“We are on a real rollercoaster at the moment, we just don’t seem to be learning as a squad away from home. To be frank, it is very difficult to be positive after such a performance.
