Coventry Rugby are pleased to announce that a further two players from their existing squad, forwards Chad Thorne and Danny Wright have re-signed for the coming season ,thus making it 6 players who have already been retained, with news of further announcements shortly to be made.
Chad Thorne, aged 24, mainly a tight head prop forward joined Coventry Rugby at the start of this season from that rugby college hotbed of Hartpury College. Chad has made 9 appearances including 4 starts and was just finding his form in National League 1 and becoming an integral part of the side when he suffered an injury which will probably keep him out of the side for the rest of the season. Chad has already shown enough promise for Coventry Rugby to retain him for a further season.
Danny Wright, also aged 24 is a second row forward who has re-signed for Coventry Rugby in what will be his third season with the club. This season Danny has made 18 appearances including 4 as a replacement as well as scoring 4 tries working with Scott Morgan and Roan Van Heerden this season. Danny with his fellow retained lock Tom Poole will provide a solid second row for next season. A fast mobile lock Danny makes his presence felt around the field.
However, it is goodbye to winger Mark Kohler who has just signed for Championship side Plymouth Albion. Mark based in the West Country has been a virtual ever-present on the wing for Coventry Rugby so far making 24 appearances and scoring 8 tries. Coventry Rugby would like to thank Mark for his contributions to the side this season and wish him well in the Championship.
