Coventry Rugby today announce two more new signings in the backs, James Tincknell and Peter Weightman, the club’s 6th and 7th new signings so far revealed for the coming season.
James Tincknell, aged 26, a centre and wing joins from relegated Premiership side London Welsh. Born in Leicester, James played initially at fellow NL1 club Wharfedale before going onto the then Premiership side Leeds Carnegie. A serious car crash in 2011 curtailed his promising career, with rehabilitation saw James involved in spells back at Wharfedale, then Championship sides Cornish Pirates and Doncaster Knights, before going to London Welsh. An experienced, speedy and impressive player James will add an extra level of experience to the Coventry side.
Peter Weightman, aged 21, also a back and wing, joins from relegated NL1 side Tynedale, for whom he played 34 games. Born in Keswick Peter was initially part of the Newcastle Falcons Academy U 16’s. Peter has plenty of potential and is an exciting player; his signing brings another exciting prospect to the Butts Park Arena.
