Just a quick reminder that there's a Members' Forum taking place tomorrow (Tues, 23rd August).
On the agenda: An update from Roland Winter, plus a Q & A session with the team captains and coaches.
Judging from past reports this should be an interesting and enjoyable night, and once again it reflects how keen the club are to engage with us, the supporters.
The forum starts at 7:30pm sharp at the BPA, with the bar opening at 7:00. I hope the club are rewarded with a decent turnout, personally speaking I'm impressed with all of the effort that they are putting into this.
Ive got to say last nights meeting was another positive one.
With Roland giving a massive amount of detail behind what he aims to achieve.
I asked who will be responsible for picking the team, as this has always historically never been crystal clear.
The answer simply was that he is ultimately responsible, however he takes into consideration the thoughts and opinions of the players coaches who look after there specialist areas.. Eg Boris S, will talk through the forwards options and they will agree together the pack, and similar conversation will occur with the other coaches for their areas.
He also mentioned that if a player isn't picked, they will be explaining to them why they aren't picked and would give them details to the player of what needs to be improved to achieve selection. This therefore manages players expectations and motivation.
I thought other users of the board might like to know this due to, shall we say, lack of clarity in previous years.
No, i wouldt say so except Roland mentioned hes looking for a couple more players in specific positions, although which positions escape me now. He gave an update on injuries, and there wasnt any major concerns, the main player still injured and seemingly the last player to get fit of the current injured guys is Ciffie, who is on course for a late Sept/Oct return to fitness.
and strangely no one mentioned the sky blues either!!!
