Yet another injury has been added to the list for Rhinos players this season after Ashley Gibson has been ruled out for the rest of the season after rupturing his anterior cruciate ligament in his knee. We bring you all the info here...................

Ashley Gibson - Out For Whole Season

England international and first team Leeds Rhinos player Ashley Gibson has been ruled out for the rest of the 2007 season after injuring his anterior cruciate ligament (somewhere in the knee) against Catalans Dragons a fortnight ago in round 12. It's a big blow as the team and Ashley himself after making his way into the first team this season. Recently, Matt Diskin, Richard Mathers and Carl Ablett have all had there knee reconstructed.

Gibson who is 20 made all four appearances for England last year in the Federation Shield and has therefore become a first teamer for Leeds.

Scans this week at Headingley have revealed the extent of the injury which will need a full reconstruction before Ashley Gibson begins the long process of rehabilitation.

"The knee just felt weak at first and I had a fitness test on Saturday to try and play against Bradford down in Cardiff. However, the specialists have told me I need an operation and hopefully we can get it done as soon as possible.

"It is obviously disappointing, especially as I had gained a place in the team this season but I am young and I have got faith in the medical team at the Rhinos that they will get me back fit as soon as possible."

Tony Smith said, "We are all disappointed for Ashley because he had worked hard this season and deserved his place in the starting line up.

"However, he has got time on his side and I am sure he will come back stronger than ever from this setback."
