Brian McClennan has named his nineteen man squad to take on the Wakefield Trinity Wildcats at the Headingley Carnegie Stadium in the first round of the regular engage Super League season, as the Rhinos look to continue their unbeaten run in the league, even if they have only played one game so far (round four)

The Rhinos welcome Danny Buderus in to the squad. The new signing missed out on last weeks 28-6 winning encounter against Celtic, but is looking likely to be pulling on the blue and amber kit this Friday.

Former Australian captain Buderus has been sidelined for six months after he tore a biceps whilst playing for NRL’s Newcaslte Nights. He admits that he has been looking forward to stepping onto the pitch with Leeds for some time now.

Leeds will still be without Brent Webb and Greg Eastwood though. Both the New Zealand internationals are expected to be ready for the Carnegie World Club Challenge, which is fast approaching.

The Wildcats are hoping for another upset in the engage Super League. They beat Wigan at the JJB 12-6 thanks to two tries from new boy Dave Halley. And don’t forget its Friday 13th...

Wakefield are expected to be without Ryan Atkins (although featured in the nineteen man squad) and Richard Moore, after it has been revealed that he is suffering from Chrohn’s disease. Jon Kear insists it is not the end of his career.

Wakefield Wildcats squad: Blaymire, Blanch, Martin, Atkins, Demetriou, Drew, Snitch, Wiles, Grix, Obst , Stosic, Bibey, Henderson, Gleeson, Halley, Ferguson, Bibb, Pitts, Blake.

Weather in Leeds: The weather for Friday in Leeds is looking considerably better than last Friday: Throughout the day the Met Office are predicting sunny intervals, with a highs of five degrees. The Headingley Carnegie Stadium will see lows of minus two, compared to last weeks minus five. The temperature for the game is expected to be around the two degrees mark.
