Season Ticket and Match-Day Prices 2010/11

London Welsh have released prices for the 2010/11 season. As predicted (and supported) by members on our forum, there has been an increase in season ticket and match-day prices but there remains 'early bird' discounts for those that purchase before 12th July. Changes from last season's price structure see the re-introduction of some previous membership categories plus a couple of new initiatives.

Season Ticket prices are as follows (Early Bird prices in brackets):

 Patron     £500
 Adult Grandstand £250 (£220)
 Adult Ground £200 (£180)
 OAP Grandstand £200
 OAP Ground £120
 Country Member (Ground only) £100
 Armed Forces Personnel (Ground only)     £100
 Student (Ground only) £50
 Parent of Junior Player (Ground only) £55
 Junior Dragon (Ground only) £10

 

 

 

 

 







Match-day admission will be £15 with an extra £5 payable for a seat in the grandstand.

New intiatives include a new category for members of HM Armed Forces. Any member who introduces a new member will receive a limited edition 125th Anniversary t-shirt.

At least they've been sensible and not tried to charge for the 'members' enclosure'.

Before I phone the club to ask, can anyone remember...?
Last year the direct debits couldn't be taken because there were new bank details following the takeover. Did we set-up new direct debit mandates - and therefore this year's money will be taken on a date TBA - or did we all have to pay by cheque last year?

Last season the LS standard membership was:

Social membership of London Scottish with all benefits
Season ticket (Entrance to 15 league matches and a FREE programme at every game)
Listing in match programme on 1878 club page
Listing on Official website on 1878 page
2 spaces for 1878 hospitality lunch at end of the season with 1st XV squad meet and greeet - 17th April 2010
10% discount on all Merchandise products in club shop
Dedicated membership Card and season ticket combined
Preferential bookings at events
Discount on in-house events
Offers and deals with affiliate companies
Dedicated 1878 merchandise product
Total cost £200


Has it gone up that much this year?

The thing that matters is whether one wishes to become a member at London Welsh.

When in such close proximity, of course it is sensible to keep an eye on one's competitor. After all, they are marketing to the same area, businesses and residents. Tony Copsey wil be very shrewd as their new CEO with all his experience from Quins and Wasps. He built up their supporter base in both situations, hence generating vital income.

It doesn't matter to the likes of you, me or the other 500 that automatically renew every year but it might to the 5000 that we need to recruit.

Of course it's not all about price. It's also about the package that is offered, the match day experience, the quality of rugby and so on.

Therefore what Esher, Ldn Scots, Quins, Saracens, Wasps, LI, Ross Pk etc all offer does matter if we have ambitions of increasing crowds and pushing for a place in the the GP and staying there!

Of course I agree that what happens at local clubs is important and LW need to monitor and provide good value for money both on and off the field.
I only made my short comment as to me it looked like the start of another moaning session by LW members/supporters -
I am pleased it appears it is not going to proceed in that direction. Here's to a happy, harmonious, successful, and moan free season that see's the LW membership and a gates go beyond all reasonable expectations (Sm128) (Sm60)
