Supporters Club Branch Out

In line with the 1st XV the LWSC is setting up a branch based in Oxford. The new branch although autonomous will have a close affiliation to the existing supporters club, taking on the same ethos and constitution.

The intention will be for membership to mirror that of the existing Supporters club, at £10 with part of this being diverted to the existing supporters club to distribute as part of their continuing support of London Welsh, from the 1st XV down to the minis.

The remit will be to carry out a similar function to the existing Supporters Club , to arrange transport to away games from the Oxford area along with social functions and local fund raising activities.

The main ethos behind the two branches of the Supporters Club is the continuity of  links with the existing fanbase in London whilst embracing the new support in the Oxford area.

Anyone interested please visit the Supporters Club table at the Kassam, on match days ,for more information or to sign up

Meanwhile the existing London branch is still accepting membership and carriying on the work it does for it's members and the club.

Sorry...but I really can't see the point in having separate supporters clubs.
We all support the same club...don't we?

It's not separate supporters club it's one club meeting the needs of people from both ends.

It's about a contingent from two sets of fans coming together to try and create some inclusivity and a bond between two fanbases, each using their knowledge of their own location. But with similar goals.

I think I might join the Oxford end as well in order to know of any events they organise.

If they organise coaches to Bristol or Pirates, and the coach comes near Oxford Station, I think that would be faster - though not cheaper - for me from London than going to ODP to pick up a coach there.

And I would get to know the Oxford end supporters better.

Plus the London end would be spared my chatter.

Which they are already, most of the time, by my travelling by train in blissful solitude.

I joined previously but live in Bicester. How do I know which bit I am in?? Confusion is my middle name by the way.....

I presume I need to pick up a card from the usual table at Kassam??

You will currently be signed up with the london end, which is fine, we will almost certainly be sharing our database, the seperate branches is all about targeting certain activities, such as away transport etc to the right people.
Yep membership cards are ready at the supporters club table.
