The thunder and lightning and hail storm undoubtedly helped create a thoroughly entertaining spectacle with both sides slogging it out in the muck and bullets ..
Fortuinately, the worst of the storm was at half time but it did delay the restart.
Notts had begun the scoring with a penalty from Matt Jarvis and he added a second befor an excellent James Pritchard got our first score to make it 6-3 to the visitors at the break.
The rain poured, but there was blue sky on the horizon and we were rewarded with the only try of the game when we chose not to kick a penalty in the Notts 22. Vandermolen was the man who went over after the forwards won their battle on the greasy surface.
Pritchard failed to convert but he managed another pen which was cancelled out by a third from Jarvis and that's the way it stayed as both sides slugged it out. Good old fashioned muddy rugby.
