Mike Rayer can take plenty of positives from our first half display against the league leaders ..
Few us could believe the half time score when tries from Viliami Hakalo and Pat Tapley gave us a 17-0 lead. Surely not even a side unbeaten in the last 21 games could turn that around?
Credit to Worcester as they stormed back to score 32 unanswered poinst including three tries in the last frantic 10 minutes.
However, that first half gives us a great foundation on which to buil for next season. Hakalo made two vital interceptions to set himself up for the first try, and to send Tappers racing away for the second.
We were good value for the lead as we forced Warriors into errors.
They learnt from that though and, whether fitness was an issue in the closing stages is something we need to look at.
In the meantime we proved we can compete with the best in the league and that's not something which would have happened earlier in the season.
Quite, were we at the same game....... We simply are too inconsistent and continue to make too many changes late on in every game. Can't wait for the season to finish to be honest. As I've said before, the coaches should be measured on results and they aren't performing and haven't been for a while. For us to move forward we need fresh blood and new ideas at the top.
17-0 up at half time and lose 17-32 can't really see any positives in that. We just collapsed in the 2nd half we didn't even compete. I wonder if Dean Ryan took any positives from their 1st half performance? I doubt it.
steady iron blue you'll be accused of not being a true supporter etc etc I totally agree with you! There can be few positives in losing, you lost end of. You can learn from losing, put things right, but if you keep on losing? You've won nothing, learnt little!

In what way is losing 17 - 32 competing with the best in the league? Relinquishing a 17 point lead to Worcester and then losing the second half by 32 unanswered points - that was no competition!
