Doesn't Get Much Tougher

Perkins Debuts

You can't get a tougher start to a Championship campaign than an away trip to Bristol but let's hope we catch them cold and start our season with a bang.

George Perkins will be making his first start after joiningg on dual reg from Sarries while second row Mark Flanagan will also debut.

The bad news is that hooker Sammy James broke his ankle in training this week and Mike Rayer has acted quickly by bringing in Ben Wilkinson who had joined Ampthill from the Blues Academy.

Other players who will miss the trip along the M4 are Phil Boulton, Ollie Dodge  and Joel Conlon who damaged a knee in the excellent show at Scarlets last week.

Pre-season has been better than usual and there's a freshness about the Blues. Looking forward to it.

Blues:  15. Steffan Jones 14. George Perkins 13. Henry Staff 12. Michael Le Bourgeois 11. Dean Adamson 10. Jake Sharp 9. Pete White 1. Camilo Parilli-Ocampo
2. Charlie Clare 3. James Currie 4. Mike Howard (captain) 5. Mark Flanagan 6. Justin Blanchet 7. Josh Buggea 8. Hayden Thompson-Stringer

Reps:  Ben Wilkinson, Jack Culverhouse, Paul Tupai, Nick Fenton-Wells, Jordan Burns, Myles Dorrian, Piers O’Conor
