Three games in - no wins and second bottom of the Championship. It's not a place we want to be ..
It is, however, early days and the performance against top of the table former Premiership boys London Irish suggests it won't be long before the Blues start climbing the table.
We haven't had the easiest of fixtures to start the new season - and next up is Doncaster Knights away and that's another tricky trip.
We will go into that encounter off the back of a very spirited display against the green and whites, a game which see-sawed all afternoon.
Pat Tapley crossed twice - in fine style - with George Edgson crashing over and Myles Dorrian and Jake Sharp adding the extras as they swapped the 10 shirt.
However, Irish proved to be resilkient and just to say deserved their 30-23 win. We got a bonus point .. we could have had more.

The result of the first game against Pirates was a bit of a shock and evidently boosted their confidence as they now lie third in the table.
Blues performance was dilatory in that game. Things were tightened up against Jersey but may be a touch of too little too late. And then Irish came a-calling and got a mighty wake up call. Whilst not a perfect performance by the Blùes it was a massive improvement on the game against Pirates and, unlike that game, one we had a prospect of winning.
If the squad can bring the intensity and desire to all their future games that were brought to the Irish game there are a number of reasons to be cheerful.
On last week's showing, Blues can beat Doncaster but it depends on bringing that drive, determination and character again to the game - oh! - and not getting on the wrong side of the officials. Sometimes discipline can be an issue and giving away silly penalties and getting avoidable yellow cards loses games.
A slow start to the season but the squad is beginning to gel and continual improvement in execution will see a continual improvement in position. Maybe we took Pirates a little for granted, let's not make that mistake again, especially against Richmond.
Against Irish we switched on the ignition, let's kick-start the season against Donnies and rev up against Richmond. OK, I confess to being a biker [/u]when I wore a younger man's clothes[u] (competition - what song does the underlined come from?)
