Time To Take Stock

The B&I Cup hoves into view this week and that means we have until the end of October to settle things down and prepare for some winnable league games ..

The 17-16 squeaky bum win over Titans will hopefully prove to be a turning point. If the result had been reversed we would have still be second bottom, but as it is we've leapfrogged both Rotherham  and Nottingham and are now fourth from bottom.

After last season's play-off fun that's not progress. However, we have played some decent sides (Titans were surprisingly good as well) so we must take points from Ealing away (oct 29th), "fellow strugglers" Nottingham at home (Nov 5th) and London Welsh away (Nov 19th).

If our defence says as solid as it did against Titans we should get a decent haul from  those games and a more realistic league position.

Before that let's enjoy the vist of the Dragons this Saturday.

Both Ealing and Welsh will be too strong for us this year away from home.

Ealing didn't look great against Richmond.

Have to disagree, apart from Pirates I think we’ve looked good in all the other games.

We didn't look good but could've scored 60 points on another day, whereas Ealing took pretty much all their opportunities.

We look good against Irish, and are the only team to have run them relatively close.

No I wasn’t at Jersey, I wasn’t at the London Irish or Doncaster games either. However I have seen footage and read the reports from all three games and despite what Riverman says we appeared to look good and were very unlucky to lose any of those games.

Given that we almost won the game in Jersey, (something we haven’t managed for some time) I was surprised that you said it was a shambles. Jersey away is never easy and to come so close would suggest that we must have played well.

IB, I'd rather forget about that game. The rest of the weekend was very good though
